NEW CHELSEA ACE REVEALS HE WAS SO CLOSE TO JOINING LONDON RIVALS.


Samuel Eto'o claims he was close to signing for Arsenal 2000 before Mallorca gatecrashed the move.

Eto'o was strulling to break into the Real Madrid side and had already been loaned out to Leganes and Espayol.

The Cameroon star, then a teenager, was interested in joining the Gunners before Mallorca came calling.
"i met Luis (Argones, the then Mallorca Manager) at a crucial moment in my life where i had to take the right direction -and thanks to him i did, Eto'o told a national newspaper.
I was about to sign that very after at Arsenal and maybe i would have never been the player i am today.
"Luis picked me, then i ended up joining Barcelona. That decision changed everything." Eto'o , 32, went on to enjoy sucessful spells at the Nou Camp and Inter Milan summer.
He made his debut in a 1-0 defeat to Everton on Saturday.
